The Sub-Acute Unit is perfect for Residents who are discharged from the hospital, but continue to require additional care prior to returning home.  This Unit offers people an opportunity to regain their independence through Rehabilitation and Short-Term convalescent care.  The Rolling Hills Team strives to help Residents reach their fullest potential.

Our mission is to make the Residents stay as comfortable as possible by providing a number of amenities that one might expect in a 5 star hotel.  Residents will enjoy the complimentary Flat Screen Television, DVD player, Refrigerator, Telephone and WI-FI access.  The state of the art Electric Bed and Recliners coupled with the luxurious décor makes the rooms both comfortable and user friendly.

The Long-term Care Unit is comprised of well-appointed Semi-Private and Private Rooms.  The nursing staff provides superior care as attested to by the many letters and comments we receive from families concerning the safe, compassionate care their loved ones receive.  Our professional team, which includes Nursing, Social Services, Activities, Dietary, Housekeeping and Laundry work hand in hand to coordinate care for the total person and assure the highest quality of life possible for each Resident.

Following a stay in a hospital, many patients will require short-term rehabilitation or short-term skilled nursing.  The goal of most of these patients is to return home or to an assisted living facility.  It is for these patients that Rolling Hills is perfectly matched.

Rolling Hills Health Center of Topeka has taken post-hospitalization rehab to the next step in quality and sophistication.  Large, elegantly appointed private rooms are available for our short-term stay rehabilitation patients.  Each private room comes complete with a flat screen television, bedside phone, an electric recliner chair, refrigerator, as well as a state-of-the-art electric bed.  All short-term rehabilitation patients are provided an elegant dining experience in a private dining room reserved only for the rehab patient.

Rolling Hills’ commitment to providing excellence in skilled rehabilitation is evidenced by our expansive therapy services.  Registered physical, occupational and speech therapists assist patients in achieving maximum independence and quality of life.  A full-size occupational therapy kitchen, practice stairs, and an individualized therapy program all combine to prepare patients for success in their activities of daily living.

Our state of the art therapy equipment can be modified to meet individual patients needs. For example, interactive technologies such as the “Wii” game console use familiar and popular activities to help improve patients’ dynamic balance, hand-eye coordination and reaction time.  The ”Nu-Step” cardiovascular and endurance trainer used at Rolling Hills can be individually modified to meet specific patients requirements.

Unique to Rolling Hills is the emphasis on providing professional assistance with discharge planning.  A licensed social worker will assist in all discharge planning activities.  On the day of admission, planning for discharge from rehab to home begins.  This proactive approach ensures that patient will be successful well after leaving Rolling Hills.
