Q: How is The Homestead different from other settings that offer care for seniors?

A: At The Homestead, the resident is in control. With 24-hour assistance, The Homestead gives residents the opportunity to enjoy a secure and worry-free lifestyle; to receive the kind of care they need, when they need it, all in a home-like environment.

Our emphasis on individuality extends to our accommodations as well. Residents choose from three different suite plans, each with full private bath, mini-kitchen and comfortable living and sleeping areas. Residents furnish their own suites with their own furniture and decor items - we can even help hang favorite family pictures and mementos.

Q: What services are included in the basic monthly fee?

A: All meals and snacks, home-cooked by our staff and served in the dining room; all utilities (excluding telephone and Cable TV); housekeeping and laundry services; social activities; and 24-hour assistance.

Q: What additional assistance is included in the monthly fee?

A: Additional supportive services are provided according to the individual needs and desires of our residents. Help with dressing and bathing are typical services. In addition, medication can be monitored and special diets are accommodated.

Q: What if more care is needed?

A: With a program built on the unique concept of "aging in place, " The Homestead works in conjunction with outside community-based service organizations such as a home health agency to provide services as needed.

Q: What if there is an emergency?

A: Each suite is equipped with a 24-hour emergency communication system which signals the certified staff, who respond immediately.

Q: How do costs at The Homestead compare with other senior health care & living alternatives?

A: Because our focus is on quality of life, The Homestead has invested in life-style amenities and features not found in more institutional settings. Costs at The Homestead are significantly lower than those associated with traditional nursing homes. Compared with other assisted living alternatives, costs at The Homestead reflect an emphasis on high quality health care provided within a very spacious home-like environment.
